St Mary's Church is situated between the two villages of Embsay and Eastby on the Southern edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, close to Skipton. St Mary's is an Anglican church within the Bradford Diocese. We are clustered with Holy Trinity, Skipton and St Augustine's in Draughton.

| Ministry Development Team | We are hoping to form a Ministry Development Team at St Mary's. Nominations have been invited and candidates will be discussed at the next PCC. |

| Ordinations | St Mary's is fortunate to have not just one, but two Ordinands who were ordained at Bradford Cathedral on the 2nd of July. Louise Spraggett is staying in Embsay, while Fiona Jenkins has moved to take up a curacy in Settle. Louise has worked in the church for most of her life, but it is only in her seventies that she has felt the call to the priesthood. This has taken her by surprise, but she is excited that God is still working in her life even now. |
| Garden Party | This took place on Saturday 17th June at the vicarage and was a great success. Some plants and bric a brac left over will be on Sale at Embsay Primary School PTA Summer Fair on Friday 7th July. |
| Our Spiritual Heart | A five session course based on Bishop David's charge to the diocese, including sessions on Community, Young People, Growth and Ministry & Mission. We had three groups work through the programme and finished with a half day at Burnsall Village Hall, where we pulled all the ideas together. As a result of this, we are now starting to look at ways we can reach out to young people, and also how we can grow deeper in our faith and spirituality. |
| Morning Prayer | Morning prayer is now being said at St Mary's each day from Monday to Friday at 8:30am. All are welcome. |
